Good Noon I have heard that no one is allowed to hire or work in a organisation without a labor card but then how is it that so many companies recruit females on husbands visa but do not give them a labor card what is the rule can a person on their own visa work for a company without a labor card

    • Please refer to the UAE labour laws section on this blog. The rules are unique and different in the UAE than any other European countries.

I would like to ask what is the rule if a peron is employed by a company on the comapny visa and is been terminated within three months for some silly reason the company says that the perosn is trying to become a union leader but thats not true he only asked for his rights as per UAE law a person is entitled for Govt holidays sick leave and incentives if he is working in a retail company but even on acheiving the target the company dosent want to pay anything and when asked for the rights the person was terminated saying that he is trying to put an bad influence on other staff in this circumstance what can be done please reply

    • In this case you need to check what is the exact reason stated in the termination letter and seek a legal advisor’s help. You might need to spend some money on this and if the company is a local company the laws might differ. It also depends on the NDA terms and conditions that was signed by the employee during his joining period.

  3. good morning I would like to know what is the rule for gratuity .I have completed 7 years in a company is resignation is the only way to get gratuity or there is certain time frame .
